She as well supported pop vocalist, Carly Rae Jepsen, on tour earlier dropping her electric current single with the announcement of her highly anticipated album, How It Used to Feel , releasing in 2020.
We chatted with Phoebe nearly 'ICIMY', touring, and her career and then far!
Your new single 'ICIMY' has a 2000's girl pop sound to it. Was that intentional, or did it just happen organically?
I wasn't aiming for that, merely I do really love 2000's pop. I think my voice just has that audio on certain songs. The music of that decade is definitely a big influence on the mode I sing whether I like information technology or not!

What was the inspiration behind the song?
I was a few months out of a relationship and even so having such a difficult time dealing with life without them. I experienced frantic feelings of being alone, and I tried to express that in the energy and immediacy of the song.
What can you tell us about your upcoming album?
I've never been more proud of annihilation in my life. I have songs that impact on and then many different things. Self-love, sobriety, toxic relationships, when to let go… there's a lot of songs about love, merely none are really honey songs. Maybe next album.
Yous just wrapped upward a tour opening for Carly Rae Jepsen. How was that experience, and are you excited for the tour with Eric Nam this coming February?
Touring is my favorite role of what I do, and it'due south especially wonderful when y'all get to tour with artists yous similar. I was obsessed with Carly'due south Dedicated album and so getting to hear it come up to life every night was actually exciting for me as a fan and equally someone who looks up to her professionally. She'south a lovely person to be around. And I tin can't wait for February! I've recently got into Eric'due south music and it's actually good.

Artistically, how exercise yous remember your music has developed between 2015 and now?
I call back the music has taken on many dissimilar shapes and colors, but at the terminate of the solar day, it'due south however me. I'm growing upwardly. I have a better relationship with myself. I trust my instincts more than. I experience costless to practise exactly what I want.
